Everybody knows that Tennesseans know what they’re doing when it comes to making food. From hot chicken to Memphis-style barbecue, to the best homemade biscuits on the entire planet, food is what the Volunteer State certainly knows how to do. It might surprise you though that there’s a fudge factory in the hills of East Tennessee that is known for making some of the best fudge in the world. On the banks of the Little Pigeon River, this shop has been serving up it’s fantastic fudge for more than 75 years. Once you see these pictures, we think you’ll agree that everybody needs to head to this spot as soon as possible.
The Old Mill in Pigeon Forge has been operating in one form or another since 1830, but for the last 75 years, it's been home to one of the best candy stores in the country.
One of the best parts of the Old Mill is that they strive to use traditional candy-making methods for all of their items, including their famous fudge. You just can't beat the old-fashioned stuff.
The Mill was vital for providing flour, meals, and even electricity to the entire town. Without it, the town could not have survived. Just like we don't think we can survive without this fudge.
If you can't make it to Pigeon Forge immediately to get your hands on this goodness, don't worry. You can buy their candies and fudge on their website and have it delivered straight to your house.
But if you're in that area, you need to visit the Old Mill today! They're open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Visit them today in Pigeon Forge at 175 Old Mill Avenue.
