The state of Tennessee is known for its rural beauty and stunning natural spaces, but some of the most epic landmarks are man-made. We’ve put together an epic road trip that will take you to the most famous Tennessee landmarks, each known from the east to the west side of the state. Whether you’re peeking the Sunsphere in Knoxville or walking the Walnut Street Bridge in Chattanooga, there’s a little something for everyone in Tennessee. Ready to hop in the car?
The Knoxville Sunsphere was constructed for the 1982 World's Fair, and you can find it in World's Fair Park in downtown Knoxville. The 266-foot structure is topped with a golden glass sphere that towers above the city.
The Walnut Street Bridge in Chattanooga was built in 1890 and is one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world. If you choose to walk it, you will make your way from either the city's North Shore or Downtown.
Known by locals as the "Batman Building," the AT&T Building is 33-stories and 617-feet high. It was designed as an office tower and was once the tallest building in Tennessee.
The Ryman Auditorium seats over 2,000 people and is known as the "Mother Church" of Country Music. The building is located in downtown Nashville and served as the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. It remains one of the most sought-after venues in the United States.
The Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge can be found in Williamson County, Tennessee. It's known for its stunning rural views and its characterizing arches. Fun fact: it was the first segmentally constructed bridge in the nation.
There's a replica of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Tennessee, and at 66 feet, it is the 12th-tallest Eiffel Tower replica in existence. The rural landmark was originally constructed for the Memphis in May festival in 1990.
Known as the "Great American Pyramid," the famed, mirrored pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee houses a Bass Pro Shop. The structure is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, and it pays homage to the pyramids of Egypt and the Nile River.
