My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
We all have traditions when it comes to different seasons or different holidays. When it comes time for fall, there is nothing better than picking your own apples fresh off of the tree and seeing the fall foliage in Tennessee everywhere you look. Apple picking has to be one of my favorite fall traditions so when the air got a little crisp we took off to enjoy a day in the orchard. We did the hard work and planned an amazing fall getaway that takes you apple picking in Tennessee, to a night stay in an enchanted cabin. So start planning now, pack your bags, and let’s get going on this fall weekend getaway in Tennessee.
When the weather starts to chill and the leaves start to change, that means it's fall in Tennessee, and it's the perfect time to get to an apple orchard.
We searched for some ideas for "Fall getaways near me" and found a lovely place to visit. Buffalo Trail Orchard in Greenville is so much more than just a place to pick apples. This quaint little farm is off the beaten path and full of fall charm. Go around late September or October and you can pick your own pumpkins. Find just the right one for carving, baking, or just plain decoration. Nothing says "It's fall y'all" like a big ole pumpkin on your front porch.
When you are done, make sure to head into the apple orchard.
My all-time favorite autumn tradition is to go and pick my own apples. Bite into a crisp, fresh Fuji apple or any of the other 15 varieties that may be in season. Rows and rows of a plentiful harvest can be found so take off down the orchard find a tree and start searching. I love looking for just the perfect rip apple even if that means searching to the furthest branches.
