This Tennessee BBQ Restaurant Was Just Named One of the Best In the US
Ah, bbq in the south. It just sounds right, doesn’t it? Today we’re staying far, far away from Memphis and Nashville – they get enough attention as it is, right? – and we’re headed over to Knoxville, Tennessee’s unsung hero. In the biggest city on the east side of the state, we stopped by Dead End BBQ to figure out just why it has been listed (over and over and over again) one of the best bbq restaurants in the NATION. You heard us – take that, Memphis.

Dead End BBQ has a neat story to it, which only makes sense since the joint was honed in the south. The idea was figured by a few folks on the end of a dead end street, and after a whole lot of work and a whole lot of heart the dream became a reality.

The highly popular restaurant is a favorite amongst locals, and the hard-working men and women in the kitchen have received nationwide recognition for their barbecuing skills. It's a talent that they continue to hone and perfect, year after year.

By year after year, we mean year after year after YEAR - there's 35 years of experience in the heart behind Dead End BBQ, which means you don't have to go any further to try the best in the business.

The service is kind and the food is delicious - obviously you need to check out their pulled pork, but we'd also highly recommend the macaroni and cheese as a side. The jalapeno cornbread is also a zinger!

You best not tell anyone if you aren't a Vols fan...this is right in the heart of UT country, which is a tall drink of water for some and a wasteland for others. Don't worry - order up some sweet potato fries or a massive plate of nachos to make up for the excess, either way.

Don't forget dessert! There's no sweet tooth left behind at Dead End BBQ. Whether you're enjoying some peanut butter pie or banana pudding, you're sure to find yourself a new favorite.

Dead End BBQ is located at 3621 Sutherland Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee, and you can visit from 11am to 9pm every day of the week. Happy bbq eating!
