Boone Lake is a reservoir that straddles both Sullivan and Washington Counties in east Tennessee. Formed by both the Watauga River and South Holston River, this hidden gem is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the Volunteer State.

The Boone Dam controls the water levels of the lake, and both the dam and lake are maintained by the famed Tennessee Valley Authority, commonly referred to as the TVA.

There are 4,400 acres of water surface area in the man-made lake, and locals love to swim and boat. Fishing is also popular, mainly for sport fisherman. Largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and striped bass are common.
