Cove Lake State Park is tucked away in a gorgeous mountain valley on the east side of the famed Cumberland Plateau.

At just over six hundred acres, the park is a great place for hiking and camping, with one-hundred and six campsites scattered throughout the space and a paved walking trail.

Visitors tend to come to fish or picnic at one of the six picnic pavilions, and others simply like to take a leisurely walk or bike ride through the wooded park.

There's also a vibrant ecosystem that exists in the park's wetlands, which lends itself to optimal wildlife sightings.

The actual "lake," Cove Lake, is 210 acres in itself and is popular for both paddling and swimming during the summertime. If you'd rather swim at the park's public pool, that's also encouraged during the on-season.
