7 Epic Tennessee County Fairs You're Sure to Love
It’s almost summertime, and that means it’s about time for county fairs! Though they usually fall near the deep end of summer, they are one of the greatest highlights of the warmer months. What’s an August without deep fried twinkies and a spin around the Ferris Wheel? Where would be be without janky carnival games and fair oddities? It’s a fun experience, a beautiful memory, and we have seven places for you to enjoy this coming year. Have so much fun!

Running from August 4th to August 12th, the Williamson county fair will be celebrating its 13th year. The fair takes place at the Williamson County Agricultural Expo Park, right off of I-65. In addition to the usual pageants and quilting competitions, this year's fair will feature a robo-car exhibit, sure to captivate children young and old.

Founded in 1867, the Robertson County Fair will be celebrating their 150h anniversary on August 21-26 of 2017. The fair is located just on the north side of Springfield. Their most unique event is the "Pedal Pull," which is a tractor pull for kids operating pedaled toy tractors.

The Jefferson County Fair has activities scheduled from August 12th through August 19th, featuring events like the motorcycle and ATV races, The "Tricky Dogs Shows," and of course, the demolition derby. The Fair is located just Southwest of Jefferson City on Highway 11E, and admission is $12 per person.

The 2017 edition of the Greene County Fair is scheduled from August 7th through the 13th. Admission is $7 per person, which is a steal! Be sure to check out the Greeneville's Greatest talent show, featuring local singers performing on stage for the chance to win the grand prize!

While this fair is not exactly a county fair, it has been a staple in Jackson since 1855. The 2017 fair is slated for September 12th through 17th and will feature "America's Favorite Monkey Jockeys" at the Banana Derby. You read that right. Monkey Jockeys. It's monkeys riding dogs. Don't miss it.

2017 will mark the 71st year for the Cheatham County Fair, held in Ashland City. Admission is $12 and parking is $3. Dates have not yet been set, but be on the lookout for the fair in mid to late August.

Scheduled for August 18-26, 2017, the Wilson County Fair is one of the most popular in Middle Tennessee. In 2016, over 450,000 people attended over the 9 day fair. Be sure to visit their expansive Midway, see the Racing Pigs, and cheer on the cowboys and cowgirls at the Barrel Race. Admission is $8, giving you no reason to not go.
