Tennessee is known for its natural beauty, but it’s also one of the best states in the south for festivals. The Volunteer State sure knows how to throw a great party, and the city of Chattanooga is no different. Every autumn, the city celebrates the fun and excitement of the hot air balloon. The mystical, magical vehicle of the sky is given an entire weekend of family-friendly fun. The Chattanooga Balloon Festival is coming up, and it’s a free event that’s one of the best in the city. You won’t want to miss it!
Chattanooga is a beautiful southern Tennessee town that's known for its expansive natural beauty and close-knit community. It's a university town and a great spot to raise a family, and one that also happens to boast an epic balloon festival once a year.
The Chattanooga Balloon Festival is an autumnal triumph. It's a family-friendly event that's great for parents and kids alike, and it will be held on the weekend of November 1st and 2nd, 2019.
The event is held in Chattanooga's popular River Park. There are multiple events held throughout the festival, including live music and hundreds of craft vendor booths.
There will be festival-style food from multiple food vendors, and if you're bringing kids, there's even a Kids Zone. It features everything from bounce houses to mechanical bulls and bungee jumping. This isn't your casual kids' table!
Of course, it's the hot air balloon rides that really take the cake. Tickets are available for $20 a person, as long as the weather behaves. At night, past 8 p.m., the grand finale consists of the "Hot Air Balloon Glow."
It's a fun, community-oriented experience where the crowd will count down as all the balloons are lit simultaneously. A one-hour show will commence, incorporating music and the light of the hot air balloons into one immersive experience.
You can visit for yourself the weekend of November 1st and 2nd, 2019. Make sure to bring blankets and chairs so you can watch the show, and keep in mind that parking is free.
