This Classic Tennessee Saloon Just Reopened After More Than 100 Years Of Business
Sometimes east Tennessee gets a rough rap, only known for its mountains and natural vistas. Sure, there’s nothing like a walk along the river or a mountain ridge, but what about the city? Knoxville is a big city in its own right, a college town that catapults careers to stardom and success. This classic Tennessee saloon stood out to us as one of the neatest places in the forgotten city, and you 100% should know about it.

Central Depot opened on the corner of Central and Depot during the last week of December, 2017. This Knoxville institution is not only a fun place to eat a meal, but also a part of local history.

The contemporary design and open layout makes for a light infused locale and an inviting eatery. It's located just a few minutes from the heart of the Old City, and you can enjoy massive windows and a fabulous bar.

The industrial design serves to accentuate the menu items and craft cocktails that elevate Central Depot to everything from lunchtime to date night status. If you're hungry you can enjoy a short list of sandwiches and appetizers to sate your grumbling stomach.

The building was originally built and opened in 1894 as an eastern Tennessee saloon. If you order an Old Fashioned cocktail whilst inside, you'll be ordering an "1894" in honor of the buildings history.

At over a century old, this gorgeous space is now home to apartments, Central Depot and a barbershop.

All cocktails are locally sourced and you'll only find a list that stretches up to ten drinks. There's something fun for every one, but quality, not quantity, is of the essence here.

You can visit for yourself at 103 W Depot Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee.
