The South is full of history, and here in Tennessee, we love preserving that history to be experienced again and again by all the generations to come. In Middle Tennessee, there’s even a small village tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world, and it preserves that old-time village charm absolutely perfectly. Talk to the blacksmith as he’s making new horseshoes or mosey in to the general store to hear all of the village gossip from the locals. Whatever you do, just make sure you don’t miss this one-of-a-kind experience at Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village.
Cannonsburgh Village is a historically preserved village right in the heart of downtown Murfreesboro. You won't believe this cute little spot is so close to the city center!
Cannonsburgh Village also holds a rather obscure but impressive record: the largest cedar bucket in the world is on display right in the middle of the village.
While the grounds are open all year, the village only operates from May through December during every day of the week except for Sunday. Find out more at their website.
What are you waiting for?! Don't miss this incredible spot right here in Tennessee. You can visit in Murfreesboro at 312 S. Front St.
You can look a bit closer with this video special, produced by the town of Murfreesboro:
It’s a pretty neat place to experience, wouldn’t you say? You can continue to explore our great state with a visit to this darling (and remote!) small town in Tennessee.
