There’s nothing better than a cup of tea on a cold day. As a matter of fact, there’s nothing like a cup of tea on a hot day either, especially since the American south has managed to perfect tall glasses of icy, sweet tea. No matter which side of the spectrum you lean towards, a trip to Burdett’s Tea Shop is bound to leave your tea-loving heart sated and happy. Located in Robertson County’s small town of Springfield, this darling local eatery is made up of history and heart. Check it out below!
Burdett's Tea Shop & Trading Company can be found right off the main courthouse square in downtown Springfield, Tennessee. The building itself, which was built in 1912, was originally used as a general store and drug store.
Nowadays, it operates as a darling tea shop in the midst of Springfield's quaint downtown shopping area. The historic courthouse is right across the way, and Burdett's Tea Shop is the perfect place to stop off after a visit to the Robertson County History Museum.
The entire space is dreamy and quaint. Dark wood elements offset any frilly ideas of a tea shop, and locals find themselves immersed in a homey, unique space studded with crocheted table cloths and fresh flowers.
The "casserole of the day" is a mere $6.99 for an order, and is served with a "Butter me up" roll and goes perfectly with a side salad, and folks simply rave about Vicki's Quiche. The desserts at Burdett's are legendary, and they're made to perfectly offset the end of your lunch hour.
Although salads and sandwiches reign supreme on the menu, it's the atmosphere at Burdett's Tea Shop that really ups the ante. It's homey, quiet and sweet. The kind of place you can visit alone with a nice book, or perhaps with a dear friend or daughter in tow.
