It may not look like much from the outside, but The Blacksmith's Restaurant in Jackson, Tennessee has a long and deep history in the area. The eatery is housed in a building that once operated as a Livery and Blacksmith Shop in the mid-19th century.
Inside, the warm lighting and exposed brick add an element of nuance to the space. For 90 years, locals and visitors alike stopped at the now-restaurant to have their horses taken care of and carriages serviced.
The location was later utilized as the Haynes Fish Market. From 1928 to the 1990s the now-Blacksmith Restaurant was a local market until it was sold. After a series of short-lived enterprises, the building was revamped into the Blacksmith restaurant known and loved today.
