My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Knoxville is Tennessee’s third-largest city and makes for a great weekend getaway. Have you ever explored the city? Knoxville certainly has much to offer, so to make good use of all there is to do, we planned out a fun trip you can take in the city. With so much to do and see you will need a place to stay so you can make the most out of your trip. Let this vacation home rental in Knoxville, TN, be your home away from home for an East Tennessee adventure.
This rental home is located only a couple of miles from downtown Knoxville, putting guests within range of all the city has to offer.
One of the first things I tend to do when traveling is establish a home base close to where I want to visit. So this rental can easily become a home away from home with all of the amenities you would find in your own house. With two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms, this house rental can sleep up to four people and they even allow pets.
The first thing you will want to do when you visit Knoxville is to explore the downtown and the best place to do that is at The World’s Fair Park.
The sight of the 1982 World Fair, this iconic spot allows you to get up close with the sun sphere. It certainly is an eye-catching attraction within the city skyline, I know when I first saw it the structure immediately made me turn my head. You can even go up to the observation deck within the sphere and get a great 360-degree view of the city. If you time it just right, you might be able to catch an event or a concert, so make sure you check the schedule of The World’s Fair Park before you go.

If you need to take a break from the city you can always step back into your quiet home away from home and rest before you go back out. With a spacious bedroom and comfy queen-sized bed, you will have plenty of space to relax or even take a nap.
Unlike other cities, you won’t find yourself drowning in a concrete jungle in Knoxville. There are certainly skyscrapers, but lovely green spaces and waterways add a beautiful balance to the city. The mighty Tennessee River is a great example of the natural beauty found in the city. Spend some time paddling out in the water, rent a boat at the Volunteer Landing Marina, or simply take a stroll at the Volunteer Landing Park.
This lovely green space offers a plethora of flowers and fauna. There are plenty of beautiful set pieces within the garden like a fountain, art sculptures, and even an old rusty vehicle. This can be a great place to go for a walk and enjoy the splashes of color, and literally stop and smell the roses. There is even a kids garden if you have littles with you which is sure to light them up when they see the interactive pieces they can climb and play on.
If you want a good taste of Knoxville living then one of the best places to visit is Market Square.
This is a popular place for entertainment, restaurants, and unique shops. If you are craving some of the best mac and cheese in the state then make sure you take a trip to Cafe 4, located right in Market Square. You can easily spend a long time exploring this section of the city and it is well worth the trip.
After a day of fun, it's time to head back "home," where you can quietly unwind from all the activities. If you simply want to lay back and rock on the hammock or call it a night you will have a great place to rest your head.
