The World's Best Kolaches Can Be Found At This Humble Little Shop In Tennessee
Nashville has become quite the foodie city in recent years, and we can’t say we’re upset about it. Alongside our bright and shiny new spots, however, you’ll find a few humble shops that serve up something delicious and new. Which is what brings us to Yeast Nashville. Located just down the street from East Nashville’s popular Five Points neighborhood, the kolache reigns supreme on the menu – and you have to try it!

Yeast Nashville is tucked away off of Fatherland in East Nashville, a tiny storefront that boasts a whole lot of sugary flavor.

But wait - what exactly is being served? You'll find classic Tex-Czech kolaches, a dough-based pastry that rings a sweet or savory filling. You'll find everything from a Nutella kolache to sausage kolaches, so it doesn't matter what mood you're in.

Yeast Nashville is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day, and their pastries are made up every single morning, and the humble shop also serves as a stop on the Walk Eat Nashville Tour.

The shop was opened in 2013 by the LaViolette family, and has become a breakfast staple in the East Nashville neighborhood. If you'd rather not have a kolache, you can enjoy muffins or scones, or maybe even a breakfast taco.

The patio may be small, but it's also a great place to sit out and watch the world rush by from your peaceful little bubble. Kolaches are a well-known breakfast pastry in Texas, and we're oh so thankful that they have begun to make their way to Nashville.

This gorgeous kolache is filled with cream cheese, vanilla, honey, peanut butter and chocolate drizzle. There's nothing we'd rather enjoy than a nut butter kolache on a rainy day...or a sunny day. Either or.

A more savory option at Yeast Nashville includes savory sausage breakfast muffins, egg scrambles, biscuit sandwiches and breakfast pot pies.

You can visit any day of the week for some coffee from Drew's Brews and tea from High Garden, served up with your favorite treat. Head on over to 805 Woodland Street, Suite 300 in East Nashville to experience these classic Czech pastries for yourself.
Once you’re done with your meal, you can head to this stunning and adventurous Tennessee town – it’s too often forgotten. Have you been? Is it your hometown?
