My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
Have you ever looked at those sweaty hotdogs rolling around for way too long on the heating rollers at a gas station, then thought to yourself “Wow that looks delicious”? We’ve all been on a road trip and been in a situation where, hungry and weary, you settle for some food from a gas station. Whether it was subpar or just plain awful, such an experience might have left you leery of anything coming from a building ten feet from where you pump gas. We get it — truly — but trust us when we say that’s all about to change when you visit Cubby’s Deli in Sevierville, Tennessee. This is home to what is considered the best burger in Sevierville TN.
We’ve all seen Citgo gas stations and they can be easily dismissed as just another place to stop, get gas, and maybe go to the bathroom. This Citgo, however, is unlike any of the other ones because located right inside is a mouth-watering array of comfort food just waiting for you.
You will know you have arrived when you see the bright yellow Chubby's sign. They regularly change the sign to give their customers some funny message. It is a staple at this little deli to have humor alongside good ole home cooking. You can expect a good meal and a good time all in one place. You'll get much more than other gas stations will offer you.
You can go in get a quick bite to eat, or simply take a seat and enjoy your stay. No one needs to be in a hurry when it comes to food this good. The owners make the experience as fantastic as the food.
As for the name, well it might seem a bit rude to call someone chubby, but around here it's branded, it's also the owner's name. Clyde and Chubby are their names and this married couple knows how to have fun. Many people assumed that Clyde was nicknamed Chubby and when they asked about it he would say "I'm not Chubby, I'm just fat". So the joke stuck and was even put on their shirts.

The menu is simple and straightforward, offering delicious dishes, comfort food, and good old Southern country cooking.
The Cubby’s Famous Burger might very well be the best thing on the menu. They take slow-roasted pork, lather it with cheese, onions, and BBQ sauce then top it with crispy bacon. This mouth-watering burger is sure to leave you full and happy because this bad boy is one mighty mound of meat!
They are open for breakfast and lunch and both options are amazing. Classic breakfast options abound like French toast, pancakes, eggs, and bacon. You can’t go wrong when you start your day with the large portions found at Cubby’s.
When we say the menu is full of Southern comfort food -- we really mean it. Biscuits smoothed in gravy are an all-time favorite for anyone growing up in Tennessee; and if you're new around here, it's a tradition worth adopting.
Be sure to find the specials that they have on rotation for a truly delicious meal. Spaghetti, meatloaf, fried chicken liver, and more will be offered on different days depending on when you visit.
Business at the gas station deli worked so well that they have been able to open up a second location known as Chubby's Restaurant. It may be in a second location but you will still be served the same delicious hot dishes, signature humor, and stellar service you got at the Deli. They didn't abandon their roots either because the humble gas station deli is still open for business. Whichever establishment you choose to visit you should know you are in for a treat.
Cubby’s Deli is hiding away in a little gas station in Sevierville, Tennessee. Word on the street is, that this is home to the best burger in Sevierville, Tennessee. This small restaurant very well could change the way you look at gas station food. So next time you are tempted to partake in one of those expired hotdogs rolling on a warming rack — remember Cubby’s! Make sure to follow along with the Chubby’s Deli, and the Chubby’s Restaurant Facebook page to see when they are running their specials.
If you are looking to make a whole weekend experience in the Smokies, then book a stay at Camp Margaritaville — it’s a great place to start. Need a camper for your trip? Check out the options at RV Share and pick out your next road trip ride.
