My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Gatlinburg is one of those picture-perfect little mountain towns that is tailor-made for relaxation. The town’s location amid the Great Smoky Mountains allows visitors to be wholly immersed by the region’s beauty. Once you have experienced it, you will see how the mountains call back time and time again. There are plenty of places to stay in Tennessee, but there is something about this small town in particular that’s just plain special. Next time you need a vacation, check out this place which we happen to think is the best cabin rental in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Cabins are a big part of the history here in the Great Smoky Mountains, but a lot has changed in the last couple of decades. Gatlinburg has become a popular hub for vacationers and to accommodate the massive influx of people luxurious cabins have been created to make the most of the mountains -- with modern amenities, of course.
That is exactly what you will find the Heaven’s Mountain Lodge. This six bedroom, six bathroom cabin can house up to 12 people and is the ultimate getaway for those hoping to have an epic Smoky Mountain adventure.
Watch the famous “smoke” of the mountains billow up in the morning, dancing atop the peaks as you sip your coffee. Enjoy an afternoon on the porch specifically designed to make the most of the fantastic views, or take a sunset soak in the hot tub and soak your cares away. The sounds of the forest are a pleasant backdrop and a symphony to your ears in this mountain oasis.
Challenge your loved ones in the game room with pool, shuffleboard, and foosball. Watch a good movie in comfy theater seating on the big-screen TV. There is so much luxury to be had in this lodge it’s almost hard to imagine ever leaving -- but then again, the mountains are calling. With just a short drive you can be downtown and just a little bit further will bring you into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

With the park so close it’s almost impossible to resist the pull. Every time we are in the area I make a point to go in the park even when we are low on time because a simple drive brings back so many good memories for me.
If you are looking to do a drive, perhaps a trip on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is the perfect fit for you. One scenic route I have been to many times and still fall in love with every time I drive it is the New Found Gap Road. From sweeping views and some of the most iconic peaks seen right from the comfort of your own vehicle makes these roads irresistible. If you are looking for a stroll through the woods, the Gatlinburg Trail offers a pleasant walk on a fairly flat riverside hike. And Laurel Falls is another popular choice which takes you to arguably the prettiest waterfall in the park.
Adventuring can always work up a good appetite, so a trip to The Peddlers Steakhouse may be in order. This long-standing tradition in Gatlinburg has been a fan favorite for many years now.
Like most of the people in Gatlinburg, you will find a deep appreciation for our mountains and the history left behind by older generations. The Peddler Steakhouse makes a point to pay homage to past generations and is represented in everything from the very architecture to the art displayed on the wall.
The menu is simple but built upon custom cut steaks, and what they do they do exceptionally well. Every entree comes with an exquisite salad bar, a side dish, and hot bread. This hearty meal is a great choice whenever you are planning a trip to this lovely mountain town.
If you are looking for some memorable attractions in town, then you have come to the right place. The Parkway is filled with wild and exciting activities perfect for the whole family. A trip up the iconic Chodala to the mountaintop amusement park known as Anakeesa is a great way to spend the afternoon.
Talk a stroll in the canopy of trees on swinging bridges, meander through the immersive decorations, and take plenty of photos from the gorgeous overlooks. Stay late and get a ticket to Astra Illumina for an enchanted and awe-inspiring walk through one of the best light shows I have ever seen.
Ripley's Aquarium is another excellent choice to enter into the mysterious world of the ocean. Inside you can walk in a tunnel where sharks will swim right above your head and you can see rare and exotic fish.
The aquarium is broken up into interesting sections and highly various sea creatures. A popular spot is always a visit to see the playful penguins and I highly recommend taking your time at this exhibit.
With so many incredible places to visit and explore it’s hard to imagine a better way to stay in this small town other than the best cabin rental in Gatlinburg Tennessee.
