My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
Have you ever been stuck in a hungry gridlock where no one can decide where to eat? It can be frustrating just waiting for people to make up their minds, and meanwhile, your belly is growling. We have a solution for you: Wood Grill Buffet in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has a massive food selection. As great as the variety of main dishes is, the restaurant also offers one of the best dessert bars in the whole state. There are so many sweet treats to end your meal that you could even call this a dessert buffet restaurant. I have been to this restaurant before and let me tell you all about it.
Wood Grill Buffet sits right on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge near the Hollywood Wax Museum.
This busy and tourist-heavy area is simply a blast to explore, and Wood Grill Buffet fits very nicely among all of the attractions. The large animal statues out front fit nicely in the surrounding area. Although you might not see any buffalo in the wild in this part of the world, you can see a sculpture of one as you pass by and enter the building. Once inside, the place is reminiscent of a log cabin with exposed wooden beams and has a small gift shop to peruse while you wait to be seated.
Inside, you will find a mural of the Smoky Mountains and other pictures paying homage to our national parks. There are pictures of other national parks around our country so you can explore the natural wonders along the wall as you gather your mounds of food.
The vibe is pretty chill and family-friendly. You can feel right at home if you stop for a quick lunch or bring a large party.

The buffet is simply huge. As you follow along the bar, it will seem to just keep going. The dessert buffet and the salad bar even extend into two different rooms.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you can find a massive selection of food for each meal. You'll find good old Southern cooking alongside tacos, Asian dishes, Italian meals, and so much more as you fill your plates. I was amazed by the variety when we went, the seafood section was especially my favorite with fried catfish.
If you come for dinner, you will have your choice of delicious steaks and various smoked meals. You can’t go wrong with this buffet for any meal you choose. The power of choice is key at the Wood Grill Buffet because no matter what you're craving, there is bound to be a dish for you.
You will want to leave plenty of room for dessert because Wood Grill Buffet may just have the biggest dessert selection in the state.
Various pies and cheesecakes line the bar. Swirl some classic ice cream and then pour on a plethora of toppings like caramel, cookies, and sprinkles. Banana pudding with Nilla Wafers, which is a Tennessee favorite, might entice you more. The possibilities are seemingly endless with various pies toppings and sweet treats.
Simpler desserts like brownies and crispy rice treats are made fresh daily.
You can even get a slice of cake or pie, so we can safely say there is a dessert for anyone and everyone. You can easily get your money's worth and leave Wood Grill Buffet full and happy.
Wood Grill Buffet in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has such a huge variety to choose from that you no longer have to fight over what restaurant to go to. This family-friendly restaurant is perfect for any meal of the day and will surely satisfy even the pickiest of eaters in your group. You may even be tempted to call this a dessert buffet restaurant after indulging in so many sweet treats after your meal.
