I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old. Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Rolling green hills, picture-perfect rows of “wine on the vine,” and striking tranquility — just a few ways to describe California’s wine country regions. Whether you are trying to find a one-of-a-kind destination for a girls’ weekend, a romantic getaway, or an intimate group celebration, this unique glamping spot in Paso Robles, CA, is everything you could ask for.
Alta Colina, meaning “high hill” in Spanish, is a beautiful wine estate located in the hills of Paso Robles, California, with a focus on organic farming and handmade Syrahs, Rhone blends, and Rhone white wines.
The winery has a cozy tasting room and hosts dinners and destination events throughout the state.
Situated within the estate, the Trailer Pond is a secluded little campsite with several vintage trailers that provide a one-of-a-kind glamping experience in a picturesque setting.
The charming trailers are equipped with lovely shade sails over the front and a little outdoor sitting area with two chairs and a small table where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine.
Large foliage planters between trailers provide a pleasant sense of separation and private space. The intimate campground has a communal cooking area with a large farmhouse-style table. Guests can cook their own meals or catering can be arranged.
Each boutique trailer has been carefully restored and sleeps up to two people. The trailers each have an electric refrigerator or the original icebox, a coffeemaker, a full-size bed with a down comforter, linens, and towels.
A bathroom complex is just a short walk from the trailers and has an enclosed outdoor shower, vanity space and two private restroom stalls.
Trailers can be booked either individually or as a group. Group rentals include wine tasting and come with a tent option for an additional two people so you can glamp as a group of up to 12.
Group reservations also come with optional add-ons, a fun way to bring the group together for an unforgettable experience. Add-ons include grazing boxes, farm-to-table catered meals, yoga classes, movie nights, art and dance classes, and ax-throwing lessons.
A shaded dock on the edge of the pond is perfect for guests to get out on the water, open a bottle of wine and enjoy each other’s company along with sweeping views of the vineyards. This is a great spot for al fresco dinners, sunsets, and wine tastings.
Take your glamping experience to the next level by booking private tastings or wine blending classes on-site. The spectacular 130-acre Alta Colina Vineyard allows guests plenty of opportunities to go hiking and explore as well.
The Trailer Pond is a wonderful escape and an experience unlike any other. What do you think? Would you like to plan a getaway at this vineyard glampground?
