There are many different types of people and personalities here in Southern California. Many of us are not originally from here, but we’ve been here long enough to call SoCal home. Whether you’re a SoCal native or you’ve adopted this part of California as your permanent home, here are a few things that we’ve all done at least once since living here. How many can you check off this list?
1. Enjoyed a meal with a waterfront view.
When it comes to waterfront dining, Southern California has some incredible places to eat. Whether it's for a special occasion or just a night out on the town with friends or family, dining with this kind of view can be found in many places throughout SoCal.
2. Watched a baseball game at one of SoCal's stadiums.
Whether you're a fan of the Angels, the Padres, or the Dodgers, spending the afternoon at the ballpark is always a fond SoCal memory.
3. Skipped work for the day to enjoy the SoCal weather.
Even though we have perfect weather almost every day of the year, there are certain days when we can't resist its charms and MUST be outside instead of stuck indoors in a stuffy office. And what could be better than reading a book outside while surrounded by a SoCal breeze?!
4. Walked barefoot in the sand.
With access to some of the most beautiful beaches imaginable, most every Southern Californian has taken a leisurely stroll along the sand. Although most people have to be on vacation to take a walk on the beach, those of us in SoCal can enjoy the sand any time we want.
5. Spent the day at Disneyland.
Just because we live here doesn't mean we can't play tourist for a day. Especially when it means visiting the happiest place on earth! It may be an expensive place to visit but, unlike the rest of the world, we don't have to pay extra for airfare or lodging.
6. Wished for snow.
With weather as beautiful as what we experience here in SoCal, sometimes we find ourselves wishing for snow during the winter season. We still love our sunshine and blue sky overhead, but on occasion it would be nice to have an unexpected snow day.
7. Spent a day on the water.
Whether you enjoy a day on a boat, a kayak, or just for a swim in the ocean, spending a day in the water in SoCal is just one of the many things we adore about living here.
8. Daydreamed about living anywhere else but SoCal.
Even though we live in paradise, there are times when we catch ourselves getting annoyed with Southern California. Especially when it comes to the traffic.
9. Attended an outdoor concert.
There's nothing better than listening to live tunes while enjoying a breezy afternoon or evening in the fresh outdoor air. Whether it's a concert in the park or an official concert venue under the stars, every true Southern Californian has attended an outdoor concert.
10. Went to the beach on Christmas Day.
There aren't many places in the USA where you can spend a winter day outdoors without bundling up. But here in SoCal we often find ourselves outside enjoying the weather even in the heart of winter.
So, are you a true Southern Californian? How many of these things have you done before?
