Here in Southern California, we sure have our pick of amazing beaches! All you have to do is point to somewhere on the coast and you’re bound to find a beautiful little beach where you can pass the day. This small but beautiful beach that’s part of Point Mugu State Park is one destination that should be on your bucket list. Sycamore Cove Beach is a unique little spot where you can enjoy fantastic views and some of the best sunsets on the West Coast. Take a look:
Located in the Santa Monica Mountains, Point Mugu State Park is home to five miles of beautiful ocean shoreline. Among the park's rocky bluffs is a little beach called Sycamore Cove where you can view some of the best sunsets the West Coast has to offer!
Sycamore Cove Beach is a small, sandy cove wrapped by the Pacific Coast Highway. The beach is a true gem, boasting a fantastic day-use area with picnic tables, barbecues, and lifeguards. It's the ideal spot for swimming, body surfing, surf fishing, and other ocean activities.
This little beach is as photogenic as it gets, especially at sunset. There's nothing like watching the golden rays illuminate the surroundings hills and rocky bluffs.
The beach is great but it might be the campground that is the biggest draw. Located across PCH, the campground makes for a scenic spot to pitch your tent. Nearby is a nature center where you can learn about the area's flora and fauna.
The view from above is even better for snapping that perfect sunset shot. There are various trails that lead to the hills and bluffs above the beach.
If you're into spotting ocean wildlife, you won't be disappointed with the views from Sycamore Cove Beach. Populations of harbor seals, California sea lions, and dolphins are known to hang out around here. You'll be able to view California gray whales during their migration, as well!
