At Black Mountain Open Space Park, located in San Diego County, you'll find over 2,000 acres of beautiful scenery. From rolling hills to rugged ridges and breathtaking canyons, you'll find a little bit of everything at this outdoor paradise.
To reach Black Mountain, you can head to 12115A Black Mountain Road
San Diego, CA 92129. When you arrive, you'll typically find plenty of parking. Once here, just head to the main trail and off you go.
Take your pick of trails as you explore Black Mountain Open Space Park. For a really great workout and an epic view, head all the way to the summit. Make sure you've packed some water as you don't want to get dehydrated out on the trail.
Approximately 5-miles round trip, this hike is the perfect way to take in some SoCal scenery while getting some exercise. As you head up the trail you'll also enjoy breathing the fresh, clean air.
Even though this hike is rated easy to moderate, you'll want to wear sturdy shoes as there is quite an incline. So no flip flops on this trail or you'll find yourself in a tricky situation.
