You don't have to head to Italy to take a romantic gondola ride. Just make your way to Naples Island in Long Beach and experience the charm of Italy right here in SoCal. This spot is 1 of only 8 locations in the entire US where you can take a gondola tour. While you're visiting the area, you can also rent kayaks, hydro bikes and paddle boards.

A popular destination in Newport Beach perfect for a family getaway. Balboa Island isn't only a great vacation spot, but it's also a wonderful place to live. With some of the most expensive real estate in all of Orange County, you might have to hit the jackpot to snag a house in this area.

This dazzling destination feels like it's right out of the movies. To get to Catalina Island by ferry, you can catch a boat in Long Beach, Newport Beach, Dana Point or San Pedro for a 1-hour ride. Once there, you can explore the island on foot and take in the beautiful surroundings of this stunning location. This is quite possibly my favorite place in all of Southern California.

Located within Santa Barbara County, this island is part of Channel Islands National Park. Owned and maintained by the Nature Conservancy and National Park Service, it's a wonderful destination to experience wildlife and rare plant species. Transportation to and from the island can be tricky, challenging and expensive, so make sure you plan ahead before you head out as pre-planning is definitely required.
Anacapa Island is another island that comprises Channel Islands National Park. Once you arrive, be prepared to rough it, as you won't find lodging or dining on this island. Camping is allowed here at seven different campsites, so make sure to pack a tent and blanket for your overnighter.
Also part of Channel Islands National Park, Santa Rosa Island is the second-largest of the eight Channel Islands of California. During your visit to Santa Rosa Island, you can enjoy some hiking and kayaking while taking in the mind-blowing scenery.
