I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old. Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream.
When I say “art museum,” some of you may be immediately intrigued while others may just as quickly become bored. If you are closer to the latter, stay with me, because this is no ordinary art museum – and you do not have to be an art enthusiast to find the Mr. Brainwash Art Museum in Beverly Hills absolutely fascinating. It is truly a playground for the senses worth exploring.
The Mr. Brainwash Art Museum presents visitors with a hyper-visual world of colorful, over-the-top, larger-than-life art, featuring the work of a man named Thierry Guetta (aka, Mr. Brainwash) and other artists he admires.
After seeking out and documenting other street artists, Thierry became an artist himself, applying much of what he learned from others and blending it with his own unique vision.
Thierry’s art brings together old and new, layering obscure street art with famous, historical, and pop culture icons… well-known art and objects “brainwashed” with a one-of-a-kind perspective. Don’t miss the wall of Mona Lisa’s with a twist!
Among Mr. Brainwash’s fascinating art installations and recreations is a life-size rendition of Vincent Van Gogh’s famous “Bedroom” painting that you can actually walk into!
There is so much to see and enjoy at this out-of-the-box art museum. Have you already been to this unique attraction in Beverly Hills? Tell us what you think in the comments!
