What are some things to do in Long Beach?
Besides hanging out at the beach all day or shopping until your shoes fall apart, there is plenty to do in Long Beach, CA. Here are a few things to do in Long Beach that you may not know about yet:

  • Long Beach Antique Flea Market: Every third Sunday of the month, deal seekers descend on Long Beach for an epic flea market. Over 800 vendors set up shop to show us what treasures they have collected. You'll find everything from perfectly restored vintage appliances, gently-used clothing, plants (new ones not vintage), and old cameras, to games, toys, jewelry, furniture, and much more. There is a free parking area that fills up fast, so get an early start on the day to find the best deals and a place to park your wheels.
  • Challenge yourself to eat the Mac Daddy Frankie: The Potholder Cafe in Long Beach is a hot spot for breakfast before you hit the beach. If you are up for the ultimate pancake challenge you have to try to down the famous Mac Daddy Frankie - an 18-inch pancake served on a pizza pan! The cafe is a wonderful blend of typical American fare and traditional Mexican food, so there are plenty of other options if you aren't up for a pancake that is probably heavier than your head - but then you won't get the free T-shirt.
  • Spend the day at Recreation Park: This epic 211-acre park that was first created in 1923 was designated a Long Beach historic landmark in 1991. It is a massive recreational area with a dog park, kids playgrounds, a full 18-hole golf course, and a nine-hole course, a skateboard park, picnic areas, a Lawn Bowling Club, a Spanish-style bandshell, the Billie Jean King Tennis Center, baseball fields, and the Long Beach Casting Club. Each of those activities can keep you busy for a few hours until you decide to cool off at the next-door Colorado Lagoon.
