If you love seafood, then there’s one restaurant in Southern California that absolutely needs to be on your bucket list. Growing from a small family-owned business to a California staple, San Pedro Fish Market is known for its incredible waterfront setting and unforgettable menu. The restaurant is actually considered the largest in the state and it can seat over 3,000 people! Stop on by and see why this outdoor restaurant has not only stuck around for so long but expanded to several locations around Southern California.
San Pedro Fish Market has long been known as the place to go in Southern California for fresh seafood. From their unforgettable menu to the scenic waterfront setting, this restaurant and market is larger-than-life in every single way.
When San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant opened in 1982, the restaurant only had seating for 400. Today, the family-owned business has grown to several different locations and the original restaurant can seat over 3,000! In fact, it proudly claims to be the largest restaurant in California.
San Pedro Fish Market is in its fourth generation of being family-owned and operated. The operation has grown substantially since they started as Vista Seafood in 1956. However, the focus on a high-quality, large selection of fresh seafood has always stayed the same.
There are currently six San Pedro Fish Market locations but the original is the biggest (and maybe the best?) In addition to picking up freshly-caught fish from the market, guests can also dine on-site in a brilliant waterfront setting.
Not sure what to try? The restaurant's world-famous shrimp tray is a must! It comes loaded with grilled shrimp, potatoes, and veggies served with garlic bread. It can serve 2,4, or 6 people, and you can make additions to your tray according to your personal tastes.
If you don't feel up for an entire shrimp tray, you can always opt for one of the market's classic plates. Fish and chips, shrimp and chips, calamari and chips - they do it all. They also have some of the best ceviche and fish sandwiches around!
It doesn't get more SoCal than enjoying a fully-loaded tray of fresh seafood while looking out onto the waterfront. Do yourself a favor and stop by San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant to see what the fuss is about. Check out the market's website for more information.
