I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old. Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream.
Here in Southern California, we have a *lot* of hamburger joints, but I can tell you for sure that one name always comes to mind when we hear “burgers” – and that’s In-N-Out Burger. For three-quarters of a century, this unchanging classic has been slinging fresh, cooked-to-order burgers and fries, and it is time to celebrate! Mark your calendars to be part of this legendary restaurant’s Anniversary Festival in Pomona, CA.
In-N-Out Burger’s 75th Anniversary bash is being held at the Pomona Fairplex racetrack, which has recently been re-named the In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip. Celebrate with drag racing, a classic car show, live music, carnival rides and games, and of course, food!
In-N-Out Burger was founded by Harry and Esther Snyder who had one simple motto, to “Give customers the freshest, highest quality foods and provide them with friendly service in a sparkling-clean environment.”
Still owned and operated by the Snyder family, the restaurant’s commitment to quality and service have never wavered.

As with many multi-generational customers, my burger-loving mom passed on her In-N-Out cravings to me. Like the slogan I have heard my whole life says, “That’s what a hamburger’s all about.”
From the beginning, as a drive-through-only restaurant, In-N-Out has always had a connection with cars. The lines have always been long and the parking lot has always been a social “dining room” of sorts, as well as a gathering spot for classic car enthusiasts.
Fun fact: The first restaurant with a dining room opened in 1979, over 30 years after the first location opened.
One thing that has contributed to the longevity, consistency, and reputation of this California icon is the simple menu that has not significantly changed over the decades.
What has changed through the years is the not-so-secret menu, with animal-style and protein style burgers and fries, grilled cheese (the burger-less burger), and the epic 4X4 burger.
At the festival, guest will line up on foot rather than in cars at In-N-Out Cookout Trucks to enjoy their favorite classics.
A lot of people don’t know that In-N-Out Cookout Trucks are available to serve events like corporate picnics, birthdays, weddings, etc.
As part of the 75th Anniversary Festival, In-N-Out is hosting the Rock 2 Freedom benefit concert at 5 p.m. In addition to headliners ZZ Top and 311, the concert will feature 48 Special - the In-N-Out Burger President and Owner Lynsi Snyder and In-N-Out family members’ own band!
Concert ticket purchase goes directly to the Slave 2 Nothing Foundation which helps individuals and families get freedom and healing from substance abuse. Concert tickets also include festival admission.
This is going to be a blowout party celebrating a SoCal legend, and doing some social good along the way. What do you think?
