I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
Many historical places around our nation are said to be haunted, and one of the most haunted places in Southern California sits in Long Beach. If you’re looking for a spooky adventure, take a tour of The Queen Mary and then dine at The Cauldron, a spooky-themed restaurant in Southern California.
Considered one of the top haunted places in the country, The Queen Mary is a historic ship that serves as a hotel, entertainment venue, and historical attraction.
The Queen Mary was built in Scotland in the 1930s and its maiden voyage was on May 27, 1936. At the time, it was considered the most luxurious ship in the world. There were five dining rooms, cocktail bars, swimming pools, and a grand ballroom, among other amenities.
After traveling for several decades, the ship was retired to Long Beach in 1967 and turned into a Southern California attraction. However, over the years, there have been reports that the ship is haunted. In fact, it's considered one of the top haunted places in the country.
The Queen Mary is currently being repaired and is not expected to resume tours until the end of 2022. However, when they do resume, you can take one of the spooky haunted tours that are offered!
You may also want to try dining at The Cauldron Spirits and Brews, a restaurant with a spooky, haunted theme. The interior is cozy yet dark and decorated with antiques, a fireplace, and a cauldron.
It seems like Halloween here all year at The Cauldron! With so many things to look at, you'll have a fun time dining on hauntingly delicious cuisine here. And be on the lookout for spirits who may come out and surprise you!
As for the cuisine, the menu is French-inspired offering items like beef bourguignon, escargot, Croque monsieur sliders, and more. This is a one-of-a-kind restaurant offering delicious food in an atmosphere you can't find anywhere else.
