When it comes to being outside in nature all year long, there’s no place like Southern California. If hiking is your outdoor adventure of choice, then you’re going to want to add this picturesque trail to your bucket list. Although you’ll see just how magnificent it is in the photos, you’ll want to experience this beauty in person and see this slice of paradise for yourself.
Welcome to the Iron Mountain Trailhead. You're in store for one stunning hike, so lace up those shoes and get ready to have some fun.
As one of the most popular hikes in this part of Southern California, the trail can be crowded at peak times. Do yourself a favor and show up early in the morning so you can have the trail all to yourself while also enjoying the hike before the afternoon sun really heats things up.
You'll find a variety of scenery to satisfy your senses along the hike. From picturesque waterfront views to a path that will lead you through a tunnel of trees, every which way you turn is filled with unique beauty.
In addition to sturdy shoes you'll also want to pack plenty of water and a tube of sunscreen as the sun can be quite menacing out here, especially in the afternoon.
Love a great view? Then you'll want to be on the lookout for this telescope along the trail. Peek through the lens and you'll be treated to a stunning view for miles and miles.
Although Iron Mountain Trail is considered a moderate hike, there are definitely some challenging inclines along the trail and some boulders to navigate that may feel a bit more advanced for the average hiker. This is definitely not a beginner trail so come prepared to break a sweat.
But the payoff is worth it. You'll experience some magnificent views as you reach the peak. Make sure to stop and soak up the surroundings when you reach the top as you've earned a little break.
