I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old. Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream.
The little unincorporated town of Somis is primarily an agricultural community with a laid-back, friendly vibe. There is no real “downtown” area, but don’t let that keep you from visiting. Just minutes from Camarillo and Ventura, and about an hour outside of Los Angeles, a day trip to Somis, California, is like spending a day in the country. Beautiful fields, lush and colorful nurseries, fresh farm markets, adorable animals, berry picking, and a dose of local history make for a relaxing and unforgettable day.
The town of Somis is a refreshing little pocket of country living that lets slow down and enjoy the day, and you are sure to meet some friendly people along the way. Have you been to any of these places in Somis? Would you enjoy a day trip to this little farm town?
