I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old. Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream.
Being right on the Pacific coast not only means warm, sandy beaches and stunning blue waves. It also means incredible, fresh seafood. There is a dizzying array of places to enjoy it, from tiny shacks to food trucks to fine dining establishments. This unique seafood restaurant in Redondo Beach, California, offers a selection and experience all its own and we think you’ll love it.
Quality Seafood in Redondo Beach is a family operation that has been providing amazingly fresh seafood right on the water since 1953.
Claiming to have the largest selection of seafood on the entire West Coast, this historic Los Angeles seafood spot offers a truly unique customer experience.
Quality Seafood is located on the International Boardwalk at Redondo Beach, just next to the famous pier.
To find it, take Torrance Boulevard until it ends to enter the lower pier parking structure. Inside the structure, take the first left, then an immediate right. You will find the restaurant at the north end of the lot.

The ground-level fish market is far more than a selection of fresh seafood to take home. Literally, anything you choose can be taken home fresh so you can cook it, or cooked for you so you can enjoy it immediately on-site.
The knowledgeable staff is always ready to help you choose your fish and either pack it or prepare it for you. You can choose to have your selections grilled, deep fried, steamed, or sashimi-style.

More than anything else, Quality Seafood is known for fresh (live, actually!) crab. In fact, the business logo is a crab! Customers come from all over, and keep coming for generations, to visit the “Crab Pit.”
This is a no-pretense, authentic seafood experience. Choose your crab from a large selection, then wait for it to be cooked and served with a small wooden mallet, some butter, and sheets of newspaper. Grab a table with friends, maybe some beers, and spend the afternoon cracking crab by the sea.
Whatever you order, it will be amazing, but the seafood market counter is an opportunity to see just why it has earned such an outstanding reputation. Here you can find more rare delicacies like live blue crab, live purple sea urchin, or rock cod caught in local waters.
Unique seafood is the name of the game here, and the variety of fish available is pretty staggering - Red or Mexican Snapper, fresh Sardines and Anchovies, Black Cod, Octopus, Thresher Shark, Opah, Ono, Bronzino, Milk Fish, scallops, and a whole lot more.
You can enjoy your fresh-cooked seafood delights on stone tables overlooking the marina, or take to the beach on the other side of the pier. This is a great spot for a sunset dinner.
This multi-level, multi-section market and restaurant has something for everyone. The Snack Bar area serves up award-winning clam chowder and lobster bisque, fish and chips, lobster rolls, calamari, and fried clam strips.
Head to the “bar” for a rotating selection of 14 on-tap craft beers, butter, sauces, crab mallets, and other things to complement and complete your meal.
This seafood restaurant in Redondo Beach has been providing amazing food and a fantastic dining experience in Southern California for decades. Have you enjoyed a meal here?
