Found in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is the marvelous Leo Carrillo State Park. This coastal state park is known by locals but is not as crowded as some other nearby parks in the Malibu area. There are all sorts of fun activities to do in the park, including swimming, surfing, and tunnel exploration.

Leo Carrillo State Beach features some of the best ocean views in Southern California. For a lovely 5.1 mile-long coastal walk, take the Leo Carrillo Beach Trail.
