I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old. Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream.
Spring and summer bring us warm nights, vibrant flowers, fun annual festivals, and more, but even though the season is winding down, there are still a few more opportunities to enjoy all of these things. Here in Southern California, at least one event offers an absolutely enchanting transition from summer to fall with Lavender Nights In Cherry Valley, CA. If, like me, you love this time of year, when the evenings are still warm, but you can feel a change in the air, this event is the perfect celebration.
By September, the lovely and fragrant purple lavender is no longer in bloom, but at 123 Farm in Cherry Valley, this is just an opportunity to enjoy the lavender fields in a different way with Lavender Nights.
This unique event takes place at 123 Farm at Highland Springs Ranch from August 24 to October 29, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
During Lavender Nights, you will stroll under the stars through the lavender fields, now sparkling with hundreds of thousands of twinkly lights.
The farm is transformed into a magical and romantic space, the perfect venue for this outdoor dining event. Enjoy a full dining menu, along with drinks and desserts, accompanied by live music performances, under the trees.
The food court and bar serves up a variety of festival-worthy goodies, most at least 95 percent organic, including burgers, noodles, BBQ, sourdough pizza, funnel cakes, and lavender-infused drinks, dishes, and sweets.
Not only can you enjoy food, drinks, and desserts surrounded by lights, but on weekends beginning September 16, you can rent a s’mores pit, complete with all the makings for yummy treats for a group of six. The pits go fast, so reservations are highly recommended.
Sample organic wines at the Black Bench Wine Bar or visit the Organic Galleries to try lavender cocktails and soft serve ice-cream. Shop for 123 Farm merch, candles, culinary products, skin care, and more, many of which are made with lavender from the farm.
