Welcome to Deer Park Monastery! This beautiful place is tucked away in the hills of Escondido, and it's the perfect place to visit when you need to recharge and reconnect with nature.

The 400-acre sanctuary was established in 2000, and it's become a favorite place for many Southern Californians to visit for the day or for a longer retreat.
Visit this incredible oasis in the hills for a day of mindfullness on select Sundays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The schedule on these special days includes a walking meditation, Dharma talk, lunch, deep relaxation meditations, and sitting meditations.
Stroll through the gardens to meditate and practice mindfullness.
For a longer visit, book a three to six day retreat. They're offered on specific days throughout the year.
Each morning, you'll be awakened by the Wake Up Bell, then you'll practice meditation in different ways throughout the day. Meals are enjoyed in silence, and you'll have three scheduled Dharma talks and discussions as well.
A retreat is the perfect way to really relax and remove yourself from everyday stress and pressures.
The nuns and monks who live here spend their days practicing meditation and mindfulness...
...and the monastery is focused on sustainable practices in everything it does, including the solar panels that supplement its needs.
