Palm trees, sunny weather, and sandy beaches – it’s no wonder that most people find Southern California to be the dream life. It’s one of the most idolized places to live, and with that come some stereotypes and misconceptions about the lifestyle. With that in mind, here are some of the most dangerous things you can say to a Southern Californian. (Now, this is all tongue in cheek, so keep in mind it’s all in good fun!)
It’s always assumed that Southern Californians spend every day at the beach and surf on their lunch breaks. But with traffic and busy work schedules, it’s not always as easy to get away to the beach as it seems.
Not really… maybe we spot a celebrity here or there, but Southern California has a diverse population, and not all of them are celebrities like you may think!
While it’s known as the land of celebrities and influencers, LA is more than what the stereotypes say. It has a rich arts and culture scene with a lot of diversity.
Think again! What most people out of state don’t know is that you can drive up to the mountains where it snows in the winter. And when it drops below 60 degrees, it’s time to break out the sweaters (yes, that is cold to us).
7. Everyone’s an actor or in the entertainment industry.
There are tons of industries in LA outside of the entertainment industry. Although that’s a big part of the city, many different professionals live here.
Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t… not everyone in SoCal is living it up like in the movies. In fact, everyday life might be a little more normal than you think.
