Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the historic district of Crystal Cove State Park is one of Southern California's true hidden gems. With 12 acres of historic cottages along the beachfront, this charming stretch of sand will take you back in time.
The historic district is tucked inside Crystal Cove State Park located at 8471 N Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651.
Comprised of 46 rustic beach cottages dating back to the 1930s and 1940s when they were originally built as part of SoCal's coastal development, this stretch of beach is one of SoCal's most historic coastal areas.
Within the historic district of Crystal Cove State Park, you'll also find a quaint beachfront eatery -- The Beachcomber Café -- housed in an old beachfront cottage that has been restored into a restaurant.
It's a superb place to sit back and enjoy some comfort food while taking in the fantastic view.
Or if you prefer something even more retro, the Crystal Cove Shake Shack is always a fun place to stop for a bite to eat.
Featuring a walk-up window where you can order classic beach food like burgers, hot dogs, and ice-cold milkshakes, the Shake Shack will add a touch of yesteryear to the experience.
What we love the most about this outdoor oasis is the beautiful coastline that's available for strolling. It's a dreamy spot to stroll and soak up all the beauty SoCal has to offer.
