It’s always fun to find new beaches to explore in Southern California. Sometimes the smaller ones are the best-hidden gems. We found the perfect little picnic spot for you at Cassidy Street Beach in Oceanside, where you can sneak away and enjoy the sand and waves, while also taking in some incredible views.
Cassidy Street Beach is a long narrow beach in Oceanside that’s great for walking and getting some exercise. Rocks piled along the shore keep the waves from reaching the houses.
During low tide, you can grab a spot in the sand and have a picnic. Bring along your favorite foods and drinks - it doesn’t have to be fancy. Sometimes simpler is better!
If you don’t want to pack a lunch from home, there are plenty of markets and restaurants nearby in Oceanside where you can grab food to go to bring down to the beach.
The main entrance of the beach is at Cassidy Street and Pacific. There’s also limited free street parking nearby, but you may need to circle the block to find a spot.
Some of the best times to visit are during weekdays, where you’ll find fewer crowds. During high tide there’s not much of a beach to walk on, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
Beach access is from sunrise to sundown, and there are no dogs allowed at this beach. Have you ever visited Cassidy Street beach? Check out our previous article to find more gorgeous beach spots in Southern California.
