Candlelight Concerts initially started as a series of classical concerts featuring the works of world-famous composers like Vivaldi, Chopin, and Mozart in stunning venues illuminated by thousands of candles.
The tranquil ambiance created by candlelight changes and enhances what would already be a special listening experience.
Professional musicians and ensembles are chosen to ideally fit the scheduled program and theme, including string quartet, piano, brass band, guitar, and vocals.
The programs continue to grow, now including a wide range of genres that includes tributes to well-known artists like ABBA, Queen, Aretha Franklin, Ed Sheeran, as well as jazz, ballet, opera, K-Pop, beloved movie soundtracks, and more.
In addition to an expanding range of themes and genres, Candlelight has also evolved to include visual elements such as aerial and ballet performances.
The thoughtfully curated venues where these magical concerts are held include theaters, museums, churches, and outdoor spaces under the stars, each offering a one-of-a-kind experience.
Following great success in over 100 cities around the world, including New York and Los Angeles, Candlelight Concerts is expanding into Ventura County beginning September 2023. The first of these concerts will be at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, and will include Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, the best of Taylor Swift, and a Halloween-themed program.
This series is intended to reach a broader audience including some who have never thought to attend a classical music event. Audiences will be able to connect with iconic music, from the greatest historical composers to top current artists, in a completely new and different way.
