I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old. Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream.
I am a big fan of tastings, food tours, sampler platters, and flights, especially when trying a new place where I don’t already have a favorite drink or dish. More and more places in Southern California that offer flights – from wine and cocktails to coffee to ice cream… and pickle flights! Or in the case of Bitez Burger in West Covina, CA, burgers and sliders.
Bitez is located in the Plaza West Covina shopping mall. While technically fast food, Bitez does things a little differently.
The restaurant specializes in Bitez Flights, a selection of four different sliders, each handcrafted and served on a soft Hawaiian roll. Of course, you can choose to just try a single slider if you like, too.
There are sliders for every mood and palate on the menu. You can try basic meat, cheese, and sauce bites or something a little more complex like sliders with mushrooms, bacon, or even extra patties.
If beef is not your thing or you’re in the mood for something different, Bitez also offers a crispy chicken breast slider, Impossible (meatless) patties, and even grilled cheese.
You can also order spicy, crunchy baked wings in a variety of quantities from 5 to 20. Whatever you decide on, I would definitely add an order of crispy baked French fries!
The thick, creamy shakes seem to me to be the perfect companion to a flight of savory sliders or a tray of wings. Of course, I wouldn’t turn down one of the “Stubborn Floatz” either.
So, what do you think? Would you like to try a flight of burger sliders? Find out more about the restaurant, including the menu and hours, on the Bitez Burger website. You can also check out Bitez Burger on Facebook for lots of photos and new flavors. If you love sample flights as much as I do, check out the unique ice cream flights at Hammonds!
