Stretching just two miles, the Bayside Trail in San Diego offers jaw-dropping views of the San Diego Bay, the city skyline, and colorful wildflowers.
Expect plenty of foot traffic on the popular trail that's part of the Cabrillo National Monument. If you're an avid hiker, you may consider the trail more of a walk than a hike.
While the trail can get a bit steep at some points, it's considered relatively easy for hikers of all ages and skill levels. Just make sure you bring water, especially on hot days. (You'll find no shade on the trail.)
Don't forget your camera or your smartphone either, because you'll be treated to scores of spellbinding views. This is definitely one of those trails that has a ton of rewards.
You will have to pay admission at the Cabrillo National Monument to hike the trail and explore the area. (If you have a National Parks Pass, you'll get in free.)
