I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and will never tire of the West Coast, although I spent several years living in Southeast Asia, about as far from California as you can get. Wherever I am in the world, I love straying from the beaten path, experiencing local life, and discovering hidden gems - camera in hand. The beach is my happy place and when I am not there (or writing), you will usually find me baking, watching movies, and cuddling my pugs. I have traveled around the country and around the world, and it never, ever gets old. Being able to combine my passion for travel and my love of writing is nothing short of a dream.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Sometimes adults and couples just need to get away – from work, from kids, from crowds, from it all. For centuries, hot springs have been a haven for relaxation, healing, and rejuvenation, and Southern California has some spectacular places to enjoy them. This adults-only resort in Desert Hot Springs is built around its therapeutic mineral waters and is a perfect place to escape for peace, quiet, and renewal.
Relaxation and quiet begin at the door of The Spring Resort and Spa. This incredible retreat lives up to its own description as “a magical place,” a tranquil escape from the everyday.
There are three crystal-clear natural spring-fed mineral pools on the property, each with its own ambiance. Float or swim in the main mineral pool surrounded by desert foliage, palm trees, and fragrant flowers.
In addition to a serene atmosphere and mineral springs, the resort offers yoga classes on the lawn from January through May and juice cleansing retreat programs.

The outdoor mineral soaking pool is the warmest of the three pools, maintained at 104 degrees Fahrenheit, and comes with incredible garden and mountain views that only add to the therapeutic benefits of the waters.
An enclosed soaking pool is heated just slightly warmer than body temperature. Soaking in the warm mineral pools is wonderful on its own, but is also an excellent way to maximize the benefits of massages and body treatments.
Many of the resort’s rooms are around the central courtyard and have French doors that open to the pool. Rooms, suites, and the ultra-private Desert View Villa exude understated elegance.
Gorgeous multi-tone wooden floors, clean lines, and desert hues are paired with King-size pillow-top beds, fine linens, plush robes, and rain shower heads to soothe and quite the mind and calm the body.
Throughout the resort, little wooden signs remind guests to protect the quiet zen environment of the property.
From the resort’s main living room with its plush couch and crackling fireplace to individual suite living areas and private verandas, there are plenty of comfortable and serene spaces to unwind.
The onsite spa offers a menu of body wraps and scrubs, massages, and facials, custom packages, a cleansing Finnish sauna, and infrared sauna with Chromotherapy.
The resort’s lobby boutique also sells a variety of facial, body, and hair treatments and products to create your own mini-spa experience.
Pockets of sunbathing and lounging space are tucked into corners and secluded gardens throughout the property, giving every guest and couple a variety of options and whatever amount of space they need.
The Springs Resort and Spa was listed by Spas of America as one of the Top 100 Spas in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and Spa Finder voted it Top 10 Best for Mineral Springs. Are you packed yet?
