These abandoned items, buildings and structures in Southern California provide a haunting look at what has been discarded from the past. From a failed water park to a deserted town that was once a waterfront resort, you will be shocked by the sad remains.
1. Where retired airplanes go to die. More than 1,000 commercial airliners are housed at the Mojave airport.
5. The remains of a former dairy farm run by the Camarillo State Mental Hospital that was used as a site to help patients gain work experience. It was abandoned in 1960. It's been nicknamed "The Scary Dairy."
7. The former site of the Lake Delores Water Park in Newberry Springs that closed in the late 80s. It later became Rock-a-Hoola Water Park which also failed. This is all that remains since its abandonment.
It’s hard to believe that these places were once alive and thriving. Do you have any fond memories of these locations? We’d love to know in the comments so please take a moment to share.
