Fall is in full bloom here in the Mount Rushmore State and if you want to get out and enjoy it, now is the time to do so! While looking up at the colorful trees is beautiful, there is an even better way to enjoy them, which is from atop this 80-foot-tall South Dakota tower:
Located in Sisseton is the larger-than-life Joseph N. Nicollet Tower and Interpretive Center; a nearly 100-foot-tall tower that allows you to see 3 different states at once!
Named for French explorer and mapmaker Joseph N. Nicollet (pictured), the area is not only stunning but historically significant in that it marks a spot from Nicollet's 1830's Coteau Des Prairies expedition.
The Joseph N. Nicollet Tower and Interpretive Center is located at 45352 SD Hwy. 10 in Sisseton and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Visit soon before they close for the year!
