While South Dakota certainly has its share of fancy restaurants, it’s often the undiscovered hole-in-the-wall joints that tickle the tastebuds. Here’s a little restaurant in Kimball that you might not know about, but you definitely need to plan a visit soon.

The Back 40 is the kind of place that you drive by several times, thinking it might be an abandoned building or a junk yard.
That's what The Back 40 looks like - a cool old building that someone filled with awesome junk, threw in a few tables and some mismatched chairs and started serving tasty food.

When the weather's warm enough, you can dine on the back patio.
Scoot your folding chair right up to the cable wire reel tables. The back patio is full of fun junk, too. Check out the boots and various footwear hanging from the tree, the vintage signs, and the bits and pieces from automobiles long past their prime.
Grab a stool at the open air bar, and enjoy a beer or two.
