When you think of South Dakota, what comes to mind? Our man-made attractions? Natural landmarks? Kind residents? While we love all of the above, we happen to also adore the shopping, which is epic yet often overlooked. Have you never shopped around SoDak? Whether or not you have, you will want to visit this quirky South Dakota shop that is chock-full of one-of-a-kind goodies:
Hiding away in the heart of Garretson is the must-see Treasure Chest, which truly lives up to its name!
Located in an unassuming brick and mortar storefront, the Treasure Chest is a volunteer-run shop whose mission is "for the Kingdom based on Heaven culture working together to build our community."
Just what kinds of goodies does the Treasure Chest hold? Basically everything you can think of, including gorgeous antiques and decor...
...hand-made goods and foods from local artisans...
...new and gently-used clothing...
...and even a huge selection of local wines!
While we love every aspect of the Treasure Chest, our favorite part of all would have to be how the store gives back to the community through a food pantry, backpack program, and more.
The Treasure Chest is located at 624 N Main Ave. in Garretson and is open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
