Did you know that our beloved capital city of Pierre – which is home to a little over 14,000 incredibly friendly residents – is the second smallest capital city in America (behind Montpelier, Vermont, population 8,000)? If you are a native South Dakotan, you probably know all about this AND the fact that our beloved Pierre also serves up some of the tastiest prime rib in the world.
Founded in 1880, Pierre is a once vital trading post that wasn't designated the South Dakota capital until the state entered the union in 1889.
Since becoming the capital, Pierre has become a go-to for not only Capitol visits and the iconic Christmas at the Capitol, but also its down-home food scene!
While you can get almost any cuisine you can dream of in Pierre, we highly recommend trying many of our restaurants' out-of-this-world prime rib, which is guaranteed to be some of the most tender and flavorful you have ever tried.
Have you ever been to Pierre and aren't sure where to eat? While we could spend all day gushing about all of our down-home restaurants, we will narrow it down to only a handful, including the Cattleman's Club Steakhouse...
Let's just say that restaurants do not earn a nearly 5-star rating - with nearly 500 reviews on Google - for nothing! (After seeing this shot of their gigantic prime rib, can you see why?)
What? You don't order the best prime rib of your life from a gas station and convenience store? Then you have obviously never had the pleasure of dining at the Grey Goose!
