Not only is South Dakota the only state to have this remarkable monument to Crazy Horse, our state history surrounding Crazy Horse is just as unique as well. The monument was started in 1948 and is not yet complete. The monument honors Crazy Horse and his dedicated protection to the Lakota people against the US Government.

This SIX TON prairie dog is a sight unlike any other. Located in Cactus Flats, SD, this prairie dog is 12 feet tall. You have to see it to believe it!

Believe it or not, South Dakota is home to the Petrified Wood Park. It is located in Lemmon and takes up an entire block of their downtown. It includes two museums which, you guessed it, are built entirely out of petrified wood.

Last on our list is Porter Sculpture Park, located just off I-90 near Montrose. The park is full of sculptures made out of metal and other scraps. Most notable is this large bull's head which is equivalent in size to Mount Rushmore and weighs over 25 tons.
