You could spend a lifetime hiking in South Dakota in order to see everything our beautiful state has to offer. Some of our best trails require a little bit of effort, but the payoff is huge when you get to the top and see a magnificent view of the countryside below. Here’s a short hike that provides some of the best panoramic views you’ll ever see.

It's considered moderately difficult due to the steep elevation gain of 764 feet, and some boulder scrambling near the end of the hike.

During the summer, this trail can be fairly crowded. For a more peaceful experience, try an early morning weekday hike, or go during the colder season in the spring or fall.

This part is strenuous and a little bit scary if you're afraid of heights.
