Getting out and hitting the trails in the Mount Rushmore State is one of our favorite pastimes, but sometimes you need a trail that is perfect for kids and adults alike. This short and sweet nature trail on the edge of the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area is only 1-mile long and features many cool nature views that will be fascinating to kids. This beautiful hike sits upon the Missouri River in Yankton, and at the end you’ll find a lookout in an area that is known as Gavin’s Point. Overall, this is the perfect hike for people of all ages and still allows you to see all of the beauty that South Dakota nature holds.
