If you are looking for something that is both fun and unique to do, a SoDak day trip is always a great option, thanks to our many exciting attractions and landmarks! If you are looking for something both fun and free to do, however, there is only one way to go, which is exploring South Dakota’s beautiful SculptureWalk:
Located in downtown Sioux Falls, the SculptureWalk is billed as being the "largest and most recognized annual exhibit of public art sculptures in the country."
Started in 2004, the SculptureWalk is displayed year-round and changes on an annual basis, with each piece available for purchase at the end of the year.
In addition to the unique sculptures being available for purchase, guests of the SculptureWalk are invited to vote for their favorite, with a total of $14,000 up for grabs (and split between the "Best of Show" and "Best of Show II" winners).
While you can easily make an afternoon out of seeing just the sculptures, there is plenty more to see and do around downtown Sioux Falls, including shopping, dining, special events, and more!
At the end of the SculptureWalk, you will also find the one-of-a-kind Arc of Dreams, which spans the length of a football field and — every evening — lights up the nighttime sky.
To make the SculptureWalk even more delicious, plan to visit October 29th (2020) for their 6th annual Taste of Sioux Falls, which showcasing not only this amazing art but the city's best chefs!
