If you love fun yet quirky landmarks and attractions, there is no better place to be than the great Mount Rushmore State! While everyone knows about Mount Rushmore, Storybook Land, and the Mitchell Corn Palace, there is a handful of South Dakota hidden gems that you still need to visit, including the one-of-a-kind Valtiroty Shiloh’s Tabernacle:
Located in Mitchell, Valtiroty Shiloh's Tabernacle is arguably the most unique museum in South Dakota, thanks to both its innovative concept and displays.
Founded in 2011, Valtiroty Shiloh's Tabernacle - which is also dubbed the Bible Land Museum - aims to assist visitors in their spiritual pursuits by providing help to anyone who needs it.
How does Valtiroty achieve its goal of helping people find spiritual encouragement? It is through several dioramas and displays that depict such Bible stories as Abraham's well, the Ark of the Covenant, and Moses parting the Red Sea.
In addition to walking through these historic scenes, visitors of the Tabernacle are encouraged to take photos, ask questions, and take some time to reflect on life's greatest mysteries.
As if the dioramas themselves were not reason enough to visit, the Valtiroty Shiloh's Tabernacle has some other surprises up its sleeve, including a huge gift shop, library, and play area for the kids (pictured).
